My day off
May
29th
Last thursday was a holiday, so I had planned to take friday off for a superlong weekend.
29th
Of course, I was neither the only nor the first one to have come up with that glorious idea - bottom line: I HAD to work, because otherwise the office would've been empty. Adding insult to injury, there was also work to do. Bah.
Fortunately for me, i got THIS Friday off. And next monday's going to be a holiday, too, so here's a hooray for a few days of not having to take care of 4 shipments at the very same time (you wouldn't believe how confusing it can be to coordinate so many shipments. Sometimes I feel I deserve more money for doing this...).
Anyway, enough about work. Let's talk about how I'll spend today with cleaning the apartment. Because that's why I originally wanted a day off.
It's especially because of doing laundry, to be honest. Since my dryer is broken, I can only use the household-dryer. Which involves dragging an estimated 10 tons of wet clothes up and down two stories. I'm a woman, I'm small, and I'm weak. Go figure how much I love doing this.
Also, I usually don't have time to dry the laundry during the week, so I usually have to do it during the weekend. And of course, May was a busy, tiring month, so I was glad to be able to get some breath during the weekend. Doing laundry? Pff...
So, here's the scoop: with the amounts of dirty laundry I have, you could dress up an entire elementary school (though I don't think the bras would look good on them... and yes, the pun at my height was intended ;))
Apart from that, Mark's flying to Barcelona on Sunday, so I'll be on my own next week. Meh. It's been a while. I dread the lonely nights... On the other hand, I can completely focus on the comic, which isn't so bad.
Because I'm freshly out of ideas. Probably because this month has been sucking the energy out of me like nothing. I swear to god, I'm more zombie than human at this point. 50% of my sentences feature complete gibberish that nobody, including myself, is able to understand. And here I was always proud to have such exquisitely spoken german (for the record, I'm austrian, so my mothertongue is german. SURPRISE!). Ah well...
And new drawing classes starting tuesday. Only downside is that I have to wake up around 7h30AM, because it starts at 9AM. Our society clearly has no mercy for night owls...
Apart from that, European elections. Our parties' campaigns are, as always, ridiculous. I really wonder who writes those stupid slogans.
Of course, the most stupid one was once again from the FPÖ (freedom party of austria, "national conservative", although "Xenophobe" would be more appropriate and "Nazi" isn't so far from the truth either.), which always feature awful rhyming punchlines. This time, it's "Abendland in Christenhand", directly translated "Occident in christian hand" (which, funnily enough, also rhymes in english...).
Just. NO! I have never understood why this party was allowed in the first place, and what shocks me even more is that they're getting votes. And quite a few, as well.
I think that's about it for now. I'm obviously back from being a taciturn loser :D
And I wish you a nice weekend ;)

Webcomic news
May

Starting with tomorrow, my webcomic Vice & Virtue will update again.

You can find the strips here, on DeviantArt, or DrunkDuck. And in a few weeks or months on its own website. There is a mock-up in the making ;)
What else? I'm playing with the thought of buying a new PC this summer. As much as I love mine, more RAM and GHz certainly wouldn't harm. Also, PCs get cheaper by the second, so why shouldn't I take advantage of that?

Grunting makes sexy

Holidays are over, and all hell broke loose at work. In the past weeks, everybody seemed to be working in slo-mo, and now they're finally freaking out :] (I'm working in the trading-business, btw)

Oh well, that's still nothing compared to what we had to deal with when the Georgia-Russia conflict started.
I gotta admit I wasn't very productive during my holidays. Mostly visiting family or idling at home. And we went to the Zoo last Saturday. But that's pretty much it.
Also, new pictures in the gallery!

So, what happened?

I finally found the time to work on VAV again over the weekend. Apart from that, not much.
Also, I was bored today and decided to make this little comparison for Manga Studio EX4 - Photoshop & Illustrator CS3. Why?
Well, because those were/are the solutions I've chosen for drawing my comics. Anyway, if anybody's interested, feel free to check it out. Comments & feedback are, as always, appreciated.
Also, I'll probably get next week off - the deal was "the next week with good weather".
I'm looking forward to it. First, because I need a break every now and then ;) Secondly, because SUN! Idling in the park! Time to draw and do all those other things I never have time for!

Not much going on, I'm afraid. Daylight-saving time is torturing me... but at least the weather's nice. Looking forward on spending some time outside this weekend. And go to the zoo.

Also, I'll see if I can get a week off. Had the last one in december-january. Would really appreciate having some free time :)
Also, first spam comment. Whooza!
I was wishing for something less generic though. All I got was "cheap viagra from France" :(

I just discovered that the milk I poured into my coffee probably wasn't the freshest... ew...

Let's hope I don't get sick ;)
But that's not the actual reason for posting a new blog entry. I have an ulterior motive.
First off, thanks for taking the time and leaving comments :) I'm flattered.
Secondly, sorry for being such a jerk and not updating the galleries. I'd do it now, since I have enough free time, but of course, I'm at the office, so I don't have access on my pictures; which makes uploading a tad difficult.
Overall, the past days weren't exactly productive, anyway. Mostly, I've been reading the Twilight-series. Finally arrived at the last book, Breaking Dawn.
I took the time to write a quick review, which can be found here, on Monday.
In short: it's garbage, but something forces me to read it... and enjoy it! (it's 1.600 pages in +/- 4 days. That's fast even for my standards...)
What else? I'll hopefully visit family this afternoon, and attend life drawing classes this friday afternoon/evening and saturday morning/afternoon (I'll have to get out of bed at 7 AM on Saturday. Don't have the slightest idea how I'll actually manage that...). And as far as the rest of the weekend is concerned: cleaning the apartment and doing laundry might be a good idea.
Oh, and the weather's depressing me. I could deal with the fact that it's cold outside; rain, snow, hail, whatever, wouldn't bother me either. But I miss the sun. I really need my daily dose of lux. Not getting them really demotivates me...
Anyway, I promise I'll upload pictures on Thursday. Perhaps even write a little in the About-section... *cough* it's incredibly empty.
Uh, yeah, and happy belated St. Patrick's Day :D

First Blog post
Mar
11th
So, it's time for the first blog entry. Those are the hardest. You want them to be super-awesome and usually don't even know what to write.
11th
If this were a forum or something, I'd probably start rambling about myself. But I have an entire section for that, so I guess that's not really an option here...
Oh well, I hope everybody enjoys their stay here. For now, there isn't much content, but I'm working on it ;)
And I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the man who made this possible:
my incredible, talented, wonderful boyfriend; who not only coded this page - and I'm an incredibly tiresome and nasty customer, so he's also stoic & heroic (everybody else would've ripped my head off at some point, I swear) - but also manages to handle the huge pile of crazy that is the Loam, gives me the well-deserved kick in the ass when my laziness tries to take over, looks out for me, inspires me and is the ketchup to my french fries :]
